17 CEX Centralised Exchanges
Centralized exchanges (CEX) are online platforms that act as intermediaries between buyers and sellers of digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies. They facilitate the buying and selling of these assets by matching buyers and sellers and executing the trade on their behalf. CEXs typically hold user funds and digital assets in their own cryptocurrency wallets, and they act as a custodian for these assets. They are called "centralized" because they are controlled and operated by a single entity, and all transactions on the platform must go through this central authority. This can be contrasted with decentralized exchanges (DEX), which are not controlled by a single entity and allow users to trade directly with each other without the need for a central authority.
